How You Can Support

Thank you for visiting my support page! Below I have listed some ways you can help pave the path to Italy 2026!

My journey to the Winter Olympics in Italy comes with significant costs. Your contribution can help me cover essential expenses, from team fees that handle in-season logistics to mandatory pre-season training and travel. Every bit of support brings me closer to representing our country on the world stage.

$15,000 – Season Team Fees
  • $15,000 per athlete. This covers some in-season flights, hotels, sled shipment, race fees, and coaching salaries.
$15,000 – $20,000 – 2 Sets of Bobsleigh Runners
  • I am looking to purchase 2 sets of runners in time for Italy 2026. A 2man set and a 4man set.
Highly polished steel blades on which the bobsled slides down the track, acting as the only point of contact with the ice and crucial for speed and steering. They are carefully prepared and chosen to optimize performance based on track and weather conditions. That is why pilots are required to own multiple sets for each discipline (2man & 4man runners) in order to stay competitive. A brand new set costs $15,000 and a used set can cost anywhere from $7,500 to $10,000 depending on their lifespan. Having the money to buy runners can be the difference between a competitive run or falling down the results list.
~$6,000 – Season Truck Rental (+gas)
  • Every year the team begins with ~4 weeks of pre-season sliding in Whistler, BC. Athletes are required to pay for travel, accommodation, meals, and a truck rental to bring the sled from Calgary to Whistler and to move the bobsleigh daily at the track. This carries over into the first race week in Whistler and then a drive to Park City, UT for Race Week #2. This expense falls on the pilot of the sled.
~$3,000 – Mandatory Summer Camps – Airfare, Accommodation, and Vehicle Rental (+gas)
  • Two mandatory attendance camps during the Summer/Fall require athletes to pay for airfare, accommodation, and vehicle rental while attending the camp.
~$250/trip – Additional On-Ice Summer Push Training – Lake Placid, NY
  • Lake Placid, NY is home to what is known as an “Ice House”. It is similar to a hockey rink where there is a cooled indoor surface of ice where athletes can practice the push portion of a bobsleigh race in the summer. A race consists of the push and the drive. If you and your team don’t push amongst the top ranked teams, then you have no hope of being competitive in the race. This makes the push very important to practice. 1-night accommodation $150 + $50 for ice rental (+gas).
  • There is also a private summer push camp I would like to attend. It is being held in Lake Placid this year by a former German brakeman. The cost is $500 for coaching and ice time.

Networking for Partnership Opportunities

If you have connections within a company, please consider facilitating an introduction. Your network could open doors to potential partnerships that would greatly enhance my training and competitive opportunities. All I need is for you to make an introduction and I can do the rest.

In-Kind Partnership

In-kind partnerships are invaluable. If you or someone you know is connected to hardware stores, sandpaper suppliers, hand tool suppliers, grocery store or food delivery services, vehicle rental or transportation companies, please reach out. Your assistance in securing these partnerships is a vital part of my success.

Equipment Purchase

Support my journey by purchasing essential gear and equipment needed for training and competition. Your support ensures I have the best tools for success on the road to the Olympics. Here’s a breakdown and associated costs:

(Click the triangle to expand/collapse for more info)

Sled: $60,000-$100,000 (2man sled) and $80,000-$120,000 (4man sled)
  • A sled is the ultimate purchase. Success in the sport has become very technology dependent and the Canadian team doesn’t always have the funds to keep up with other nation’s advances.
New Runners: $7,500-$15,000 per set
  • Used Runners sell for $2,000-$5,000, but often have short lifespans.
  • Runners are the steel “blades” that the bobsled slides on. They are rounded and very dull unlike a skate blade. Having various sets of runners allows pilots to choose the best option based on track location, ice conditions, and current temperature. Different sets are needed for 2man and 4man.
Protective “Burn Vest”: $350purchased 2020
  • Athletes wear a thin layer of Kevlar underneath our training and race suits which protects us from road rash in the event of a crash.
Helmets: $150-$350
  • Helmets are single use items. After each crash I should be replacing my helmet.
Spikes: $450purchased 2024
  • Similar to the shoes worn in track & field, but with close to 200 thumbtack sized pins on the pad of the shoe. There is currently only 1 quality manufacturer in the world which has driven up prices.

Aeroplan Points/Flight Rewards Donation

Support my journey by donating your unused Aeroplan or flight points. Travel is a crucial aspect of my training, and your contributions will help cover the costs of flights to competitions and training camps.
