Italy Bound!

Date: February 1, 2026

Location: Calgary to Cortina

I am off to Italy! 🇮🇹

I will pilot both the 2man and the 4man sleds in the 2026 Winter Olympics!

I finished off the North American Cup (NAC) ranked first in 2man, 4man, and in combined points. This helped me to finish off the season ranked 15th in the world in 2man, 16th in 4man, and 16th in combined points! A successful third season as a pilot.

We were in Calgary for a week of training and the official team announcement which occurred Friday. We visited an elementary school in the morning for the announcement, a team lunch at an Italian restaurant, and then we were hosted by the Calgary Flames later that night! I was home for a few days this week and took off for Italy today!

I will be posting when I can on Instagram over the next month! You can find my profile here.

I have just landed in Venice, Italy and am on a bus to Cortina! A long day of travel, but we were well supported by Air Canada and their employees!

First to board, a second dinner, a travel kit with electrical adapters and toiletries, 1L of water delivered to each of us after dinner, and lots of well wishes for the upcoming Games.

2025-2026 North American Cup Details:

As I mentioned, we had a pretty successful season on the NAC this year. I had a revolving door of teammates throughout the season, but each time we were able to pull together and land on the podium in 12 of 14 races!

  2. Congrats Jay! It’s great to hear about your successes and how you will represent our country later this month. That was the goal when we chatted at Reid’s Dairy, long ago! Thank you again for your time with my daughter and I that day.

I will keep an eye out for your races and for an opportunity to donate again. Wishing you all the best, Jay – you’ve already done us proud but a strong Olympic performance would be the icing on the cake!

    Go Canada!
